“Impropriety kept at naught !” Lamona Waldrom, a rooster of high standing and excellent reputation within Colonial Wattlesburg, could be heard touting about the town. His civility was equally enjoyed by all who attended Broody Parish Church. As Vicar, he spoke often of morality. Settling quarrels over hens was a frequent occurrence and took up much of his time. The occasional dilemma of a mother hen being overly eager to mother her chicks, as well as everyone else’s, also was troublesome. However, most matters were solved merely by seeing his figure pass through the streets. His pure white lofty feathers accentuated his pure heart and reminded those around him to keep kindness and a thought for another ever present.

Lamonas were bred right here in America by Henry S. Lamon. His goal was to produce a tender bird after laying capabilities had ceased.

Hens weigh 5-6 lbs. Roosters 7 lbs

Note. We consider these Lamonas to be Colonial Wattlesburg’s line. We carefully bred into our foundation stock to improve overall health as we found the breed in its original state to be rather fragile. Our breeding program has resulted in a much healthier Lamona while maintaining Lamona traits We will continue to work with this breed.

We sell hatching eggs online with a minimum of 10 hatching eggs per order.
